Veteran's Day Weekend

Veteran's Day weekend was amazing this year! We realized that, for the first time in quite a while, Daddy and I had two evenings off together. The three of us had never taken a family vacation with just us so we planned a little getaway!

First we headed out to Moapa, Nevada to introduce Daddy to our animal friends at Roos N More! Roos N More is a small zoo owned by a couple of married vetrinarians. Several times a month they open up to the public and, for a small fee, you can tour the facility and have encounters with almost all of the animals! This was our third visit and many of the volunteers there remembered us and went out of their way to help us get great shots and have some quality time with the animals! I now want a baby kangaroo, an otter or a sloth.

After visiting Roos N More, we hit the road again, this time heading to Zion National Park. I may have visited there as a kid but, if I did, I really didn't remember it. It was amazing! I've always lived in the desert so I've never even really seen trees with fall colors before. I could have spent HOURS just taking pictures of leaves! We went on several fabulous hikes and spent quite a bit of time just sitting by the river, letting Monkey throw leaves and stones in the river.

This was my favorite shot of the entire trip. Love the red leaves!

The next time we come down if you don't take us to Roos N More I will never speak to you again. Just sayin'...
